Children’s Sunday School Lead Teacher

Essential Job Functions:
Coordinate Sunday School for ages pre-K through 5th grade during the calendar school year.
Lead Sunday sessions using provided curriculum, approved resources, incorporating crafts, games, and music.
Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where children feel valued and supported.
Collaborate with church staff.
Foster relationships with families through effective communication, newsletters, record keeping.
Recruit and train volunteers to fill supporting roles in all children’s ministries.
Assist with summer programming as requested/needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and abilities:
Vibrant and growing Christian faith.
Must love and relate well with all children.
Possess knowledge of child development, including children with special needs, and classroom management skills.
Possess excellent communication and creative relational skills using appropriate mediums.
Possess strong organizational and administrative skills.
Education and experience:
Must be a person of Christian faith, have a passion for children and families, be a team player, and be self-motivated.
Must have experience in Children’s Christian Education, Elementary Education, or Child Care.
Additional Job Requirements:
Approximately 5 hours/week, including Sundays, variable between 9am - 12pm. Additional flexible hours as needed.
Follow policies and procedures in accordance with Grace First Lutheran Church.
Conduct oneself in the best interest of children, in accordance with and in support of Grace First Lutheran’s mission and vision.
Submit to and pass background screening.
Compensation: $20-25/hr, depending on experience.
