Matadi ECD, Tanzania
We are thrilled to partner with the Tanzania Women Research Foundation (TAWREF) on their Early Childhood Development (ECD) project. TAWREF is actively building schools for children ages 3–5 in rural communities—many of whom have no access to early education. These ECD centers not only provide critical educational opportunities but also help strengthen the overall well-being and resilience of the communities they serve.
TAWREF has already established several ECD schools in collaboration with the Tanzanian government, local leaders, and dedicated volunteers. In this model, the government provides the land and a salaried teacher, while the local community contributes the remaining resources needed to bring the schools to life. This shared commitment has made the projects both sustainable and deeply impactful.
One of the most exciting aspects of this initiative is the opportunity to maintain long-term relationships with the schools and their communities. Looking ahead, we hope to support these efforts further through scholarships, additional classroom structures, medical clinics, school uniforms, and more.

2025From now through the end of the year, GFLC is focused on fundraising—gathering support, spreading the word, and inviting others to join us. We’ve already received a generous seed gift, so we’re off to a strong start! Our goal is to raise 35,000 to begin the construction of the school and have a strong foundational fund for future projects.
