Visitors: What to expect
Please make yourself at home. We are a family friendly church. Visitor name tags are available at the entrance to the church. Large print bulletins and hearing enhancement devices are available. The Ushers can assist you with those items, as well as, activity bags for children. The Nursery is available in the upper level of the church. The Nursery is open from 9:15 am to 11:15 am. Visitors are welcome to use these services. We request that you complete the attendance card that is placed on your chair & that it is returned in the collection plate. We offer a children’s sermon after the Gospel & all are welcome at Communion. Following Communion, all children are invited to join in Sunday School (Grades Pre-K to 5th) and the Youth (Grades 6th,7th,& 8th) in the upper classrooms. Please accompany your child the first time & introduce yourself to Barbara Novelli (Director of Children’s Ministries) and/or Christina Jacobsen (Family Ministries Coordinator). Sunday School will end at 11:15 am. Please collect your children at that time. Following service, we offer Fellowship in the Family Center.
Reverse Offering
The members of G.F.L.C. are committed to supporting our local Neighborhood Impact and Salvation Army. On the first Sunday of every month, we ask our members to bring a non perishable food item for Neighborhood Impact. During Lent we collect food every Sunday up to Palm Sunday for Neighborhood Impact. In November and December we collect items for the Salvation Army Christmas baskets.
Fragrance Free Facility
Grace First Lutheran Church, in the spirit of maintaining our “all are welcome” mission, is dedicated to implementing a fragrance-free environment. Having taken the first step in eliminating fragrances from our cleaning products we will continue to educate our membership and ask them to help create an environment that allows people with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS) to worship and share fellowship with us in the confines of our church.
New Members
All are welcome at Grace First Lutheran Church. If you are interested in learning about possible membership, please contact the Church Administrator, Lynn Heilman at churchsecretary@bendbroadband.com or phone 541-382-6862. We offer New Member Classes twice per year, which reviews information about the church and Lutheran practices. This is a great opportunity to ask questions. Transfers can be added at anytime. To honor our new members, we host New Member Sundays twice per year.
